I’ve always wanted to do that thing (for lack of a better word) where you post every day in November something that you are thankful for until Thanksgiving. But, all in all, 27 posts from me would most likely get very annoying, very quickly. Plus, I am extremely busy and extremely forgetful.
So, instead, I’ve decide to compile them into one post—you’re welcome (or not, I don’t mean to “sass”). I also have a lot of free time since I’m still in Lexington (I have three classes left on Tuesday, and they wouldn’t give me the day off [insert grumpy face here]!)
They start out to be pretty good things to be thankful for, and then some are really random. But, that’s just how my brain works after being up four hours early and two cups of coffee…That being said, here are the things that I am thankful for:
1. My family
They’re always going to be at the top of my list. Because of them, I am surrounded by such a wonderful, crazy group of people, and I love every bit of that. Whether it be supporting my decisions, or telling me flat out, “No. That’s the stupidest idea ever,” my family is the reason who I am today. I will always be thankful for that.
2. My friends
[There’s no way I can put everyone in a picture!]
Now, I have a small group of friends. But I wouldn’t trade them for the world. They always, always, always bring me joy, and that’s what friends are for.
3. My boo
Yeah, I never call him that, and I probably will never again, but “boyfriend” just sounds lame. This guy has put up with me for over a year! I don’t know if he’s just insane, or if he just can’t find anyone else, but I am so grateful! We’ve had our fair shares of ups and downs, and we will continue to. But this guy makes the “up’s” worth it.
4. Taylor Swift (my second boo)
Just because she is perfect, and inspiring, and beautiful, and amazing. I am thankful for her music and all the songs she’s jammed into my head that make me sing and dance throughout the day.
5. My hometown community
Thank you for all your love and support. For giving me a place to call home, and people who will stand beside me when I need help. The hospitality of my hometown is one of the best, no matter how any outsiders see us. I am truly blessed with these beautiful mountains and these amazing people that I can confide in.
6. My high school
They have prepared me for college like no other! I wouldn’t be making the grades in college that I do now, if it weren’t for all their lessons—in math, chemistry, history, english, health, and life in general. I am so grateful for all the faculty that believed in me and lead me to my success.
7. The University of Kentucky
First of all, thank you for giving me my tuition and making me work for it. Thank you for continuing to push me throughout life, and making me work hard so I can be successful.
8. Chinese-food lovers
Thank you, thank you, thank you for making my parents’ restaurant successful! With the harsh economical state our town is in, I am so thankful for you guys providing my family with business and success.
Folger’s, I am grateful to wake up to you on the mornings/nights I need you the most. Like today, after no sleep last night, I am going strong because of your deliciousness.
10. The UK Student Center
This place gave me a freaking job! Not only that, but a job, where I can virtually get paid to study. Of course, I keep up with my responsibilities, but it is so nice to be so bored sometimes that I HAVE to bring work to do and I always get it done.
11. TJ Maxx
…for all the nice clothes I buy, at such a great price. Oh, and Christmas gifts, too. Everyone should be thankful for TJ Maxx.
12. Pizza, and other variations
I would seriously starve, if it weren’t for Pizza Rolls, Hot Pockets, and frozen pizzas. It’s not really “healthy,” but it’s much healthier than death. So I am grateful.
13. Clean, Hot Water and Shoes on my feet
A few days ago, I attended “Comedy Mania,” a benefit concert. Comedians (and Coach Cal) joined together to raise money for those in need of some of the things we take for granted. More specifically, providing clean water and shoes for children and families in third world countries. It is truly a blessing to not only have CLEAN water, but HOT water. As well as DESIGNER shoes.
Because they provide visual enhancement for every text, tweet, or social media post.
15. Netflix, HuluPlus, Amazon, RedBox, and Animefreak
Curing my boredom since I figured out how to work the internet. Always thankful.
More specifically, my hippocampus (region of the brain that deals with memory function). I am so grateful for the ability to remember my past to avoid similar mistakes and to reminisce (had to check spelling for that one) the greatest moments of life.
17. My house and apartment
I love being able to come home to such wonderful places every day to do my own thing. To sleep, binge eat, do homework, bathe, cuddle up and watch movies, clean, etc. I love that I have a stable place to return to every day, because I know that not everyone gets that comfort.
My geographical skills are beyond bad (trust me, I’m working on it). With GPS, I am able to challenge myself while driving around new areas with comfort. I know if I get lost, I always have a back up plan—which is incredibly helpful!
19. AutoSave and Recovery on WordPress
I accidentally hit “back” on my browser and almost cried. Thankfully, wordpress saves my work automatically every two minutes. You go, wordpress!!
20. You guys
Last, but definitely not least, my readers. Ya know, I’m not doing this to be famous or anything. I’ve always love to write, and I am thankful for people who actually read my blog, whether it be a one-time thing or and every-post thing.
Thanks for reading!
P.S. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, and please remember the purpose for this day. Food is only second (believe it or not)!
